All transports (taxi, bus, RER) from/to both airports Roissy or Orly take about 30 to 45 minutes (up to  90 minutes in rush hours traffic on the road). If you are short in time, the RER B is the safest way to arrive on time at a cheap price (RER B - stations St Michel or Luxembourg). The RER B is direct to Roissy airport (north direction), but needs one correspondence to catch the Orlyval  to Orly airport (south direction). See more information below at "Metro-RER-bus".

TAXIS Company G7

Taxis are quicker than UBER in Paris as they can use the taxi-bus lanes that UBER is not allowed to use.  

Prices for all taxis companies are the same in Paris for trips to/from the airports:

62 € between Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport and Paris left bank
35 € between Orly airport and Paris left bank.

Taxis G7   is the biggest company in Paris. You can book your taxi online   or download their app in your phone to pay by credit card via your app (like UBER except that you do not know the exact price before the drive). All taxis charge 2,7 € at the start of the drive. To order a taxi G7 through your app, you will have 4 € in addition for immeditate order, or 7 € for an order in advance.


You can go to the Taxis Station nearby the venue, located Place Maubert, or you can stop any taxi passing by in the street. All taxis charge 2,7 € at the start of the drive.
All taxis have a fixed price to/from airports: 62 € to/from Roissy - 35 € to/from Orly (prices from/to Paris left bank)


Chauffeurs companies for those who have an account  in their mobile phone - lots of cars are available all over Paris and airports (about 45 € / 50 €  to/from Roissy airport)


Download the new free app   "BONJOUR RATP" to get all needed electronic tickets in your phone, as well as itinerary information.

Or to come to Paris from the airports, book your   TICKETS  ONLINE   in advance AND PICK THEM AT THE AIRPORT  - this will spare you queuing up to buy your ticket(s). You just have to pick up your ticket(s) at the most nearby  Tourist Information  desk in the airport (the  locations are given online and by email).

BUS from/to ORLY airport: the easiest is to take the ORLYBUS  (all information online). It takes you to/from Denfert Rochereau station, at 2 RER stations from St Michel.

BUS from/to ROISSY airport: the ROISSYBUS (all information online) takes you to/from the Opera station, then you take the metro line 7 up to Jussieu station, just nearby La Mutualité (15 minutes métro).

RER B from/to ROISSY or ORLY: Information on  RER transport.

Between Roissy airport and Saint-Michel RER station, it's on the same line RER B and takes 45 minutes.

- Difference between Metro and RER:
Metro = goes from one station to the following one.
RER = only linking some selected stations in Paris, so that it is much quicker to reach those stations. RER is also going to the suburbs & airports, and then is often called "Train".

- In case you do not want to download the Bonjour RATP app:
Paper Tickets: their use will end in 2023 and many metro stations already do not sell them anylonger. They are the same for the Metro, Bus and RER inside Paris. Buying 1 pack ("1 carnet") of ten tickets is less expensive (16,90 €) than separate tickets (1,90 € per unit).  
Electronic tickets are less expensive and available at 14,90 € for 10 tickets (to be bought at the"Accueil information desk" in the metro stations, as you need to buy a rechargeable pass for 2 € the first time). Then you can charge again your pass on the machines in the stations.

- Rules for a ticket lifetime:
You can use the same ticket for a trip with different busses during 1 h 30 (but you have to validate your ticket in the machine of each bus).
You can use the same ticket inside the Metro/RER during 2 hours (but you cannot go outside and enter again).
You can get on a bus without any ticket and buy your ticket to the driver : 2 €.
