Transport Information and Maps

Meeting Place: Maison de la Mutualité,
24 rue St Victor, 75005 Paris
Métro station : Maubert-Mutualité (line 10) or Jussieu (lines 7 & 10)
Nearest RER station (700 m, 8 minutes walk) : St Michel (RER B and RER C)

TRANSPORTS

All transports (taxi, bus, RER, metro) from/to both airports Charles de Gaulle or Orly take about 30 to 45 minutes (up to  90 minutes in rush hours traffic on the road). If you are short in time, the train/metro is the safest way to arrive on time at a cheap price (Charles de Gaulle: RER B - stations St Michel-Notre Dame or Luxembourg. Orly: Metro line 7 at Jussieu and then line 14). The RER B is direct to Roissy airport (north direction). To go to Orly, you can take line 7 near the Mutualité and change for line 14 going to Orly airport. See more information below at "Metro-RER-bus".

TAXIS VS CHAUFFEURS: comparison

During rush hours taxis can be quicker than chauffeurs in Paris as they can use the taxi-bus lanes that chauffeurs are not allowed to use. Moreover during rush hours - because there are lots of demands - chauffeurs' price can rise a lot and become more expensive than taxis.

On the other hand, UBER and other chauffeurs follow the quickest route with Waze and often manage to avoid traffic jams - moreover, in case of traffic jam, your price will stay fixed from the very beginning with a chauffeur, when your price can rise very high if you get stucked in traffic jams in a taxi.

If you are not in a hurry, and out of the rush hours, prefer chauffeurs, they are usually less expensive (also from/to airports).

TAXIS Company G7

Prices for all taxis companies are the same in Paris for trips to/from the airports:

65 € between Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport and Paris left bank (where the Mutualité is located)
36 € between Orly airport and Paris left bank (where the Mutualité is located)

Taxis G7 is the biggest company in Paris. You can book your taxi online or download their app in your phone to pay by credit card via your app (like UBER except that you do not know the exact price before the drive). Taxis can charge between 2,60 € and 4,40 € at the start of the drive. To order a taxi G7 through your app, you will have 4 € in addition for immediate order, or 7 € for an order in advance.

TAXIS IN THE STREET

You can go to the Taxis Station nearby the venue, located Place Maubert, or you can stop any taxi passing by in the street. All taxis can charge between 2,60 € and 4,40 € at the start of the drive.
All taxis have a fixed price to/from airports: 65 € to/from Roissy - 36 € to/from Orly (prices from/to Paris left bank)

CHAUFFEURS UBER - HEETCH - BOLT

Chauffeurs companies for those who have an account in their mobile phone - lots of cars are available all over Paris and airports (UBER: about 45 €  to/from Charles de Gaulle airport)

METRO - RER -  BUS

There are no paper tickets anymore. You have to load tickets on your phone via the bonjourRATP app (to download on your phone) or load tickets on an magnetic card that you have to buy for 2€ (the card is called Navigo Easy).

From January 2025, the price policy changes: you have three different kind of tickets for the whole Paris Region: bus/tram tickets (for all busses and tramways except Orlybus and Roissybus), metro/RER (for all trains) tickets, airport by train tickets (Charles de Gaulle and Orly with trains). Airport Busses Roissybus and Orlybus are special tickets.

We advise you to buy your tickets one by one. There is no price reduction if you buy several tickets at the same time. When you have some tickets stored in your phone or in your navigo easy card, you cannot store a different kind of ticket. For example: if you have stored 2 metro/RER tickets on your phone or navigo easy card, you cannot buy an airport ticket on your phone/card, you have to "finish" your metro/RER tickets to buy a different kind of ticket. That's why: buy your tickets one by one, so you are free to buy the ticket you need at the moment you need!

Find all information and route planner on the RATP website.

Tickets via the Bonjour RATP App

Download the free app   "BONJOUR RATP" - create your account and get all needed electronic tickets in your phone, as well as itinerary information and all maps of transport networks. Using the Bonjour Ratp App is the simplest way to get tickets. We advise you to buy your tickets one by one (see above).

Tickets on a Navigo Easy magnetic card

At transportation desks, at certain ticket machines and inside of Paris in some kiosks, you can buy a navigo easy magnetic card for 2€ that you can load with the ticket(s) of your choice. We advise you to buy your tickets one by one (see above).

Journeys from/to the airport:

RER B from/to CHARLES DE GAULLE (quickest journey): Between Charles de Gaulle airport and Saint-Michel Notre Dame RER station (10 min walk to/from la Mutualité), it's on the same line RER B and takes 45 minutes (airport ticket).

Please note that you will have to buy 2 different tickets : one for the bus (special Roissybus ticket), one for the metro.

Difference between Metro and RER:
Metro = goes from one station to the following one.
RER = only linking some selected stations in Paris, so that it is much quicker to reach those stations. RER is also going to the suburbs & airports, and then is often called "Train".

Free Maps from the Metro, Bus and RER are available in all the metro stations - ask at the welcome desk ("Accueil - Information"). Also see our maps below.
