Time-Table and procedure for publishing in the CIRP Annals 2021 - Volume 1 - Papers

(be careful, deadlines are very strict: no paper accepted after the deadlines)

  • January 10th 2021 (will be January 15th from 2022 onwards) - Deadline to submit the full Paper manuscript (follow the template given online) on Elsevier Editorial Manager (EM), with, if appropriate, the Certificate of Sponsorship e-mailed by the sponsor directly to the CIRP Office. If the manuscript is more than 4 pages, a letter for requesting exceptionally 6 pages should be uploaded with the full paper. Cooperative works between CIRP Fellows and Associate members should be justified in the "Request Form for Cooperative Work" to be uploaded with the full paper. The paper will be reviewed by the STC Chair & Vice-Chair concerned, and by the Editorial Committee.

  • Winter Meeting  - The list of accepted papers is finalized at the Editorial Committee meeting and validated by the Council.

  • February 25th  - Decision on the papers e-mailed to the Corresponding authors.

  • April 1st - Revised version of the papers re-submitted on Elsevier Editorial Manager (EM) and checked by the Editorial Committee Chair who should give their final approval.

  • April 9th - Final decision on the papers e-mailed to the Corresponding authors.

  • April 10 - The CIRP Office gives the Publisher the approval to print the Papers in Volume 1. The Corresponding authors receive a final proof from Elsevier during the following weeks, as well as a copyright form to send back to Elsevier.

  • End of July  - Publication of Volume 1 (online on the CIRP site and on ScienceDirect, and shipment of the printed version).

Year N-3

  • General Assembly: Topic of Keynote and Leading Author is set in the STC

Year N-2

  • Winter Meeting: Liaison Committee approves the Keynotes.
  • Winter Meeting: Outline of KN presented in STC.
  • General Assembly: Report on KN presented in STC.

Year N-1 - 2020

  • Winter Meeting: Report on 1st Draft of KN presented in STC.
  • General Assembly: Report on 2nd Draft of KN presented in STC.
  • September 2020: The final draft is circulated to the STC.
  • October 15th: STC-Chair approves the submission of the Keynote.
  • November 1st: The final paper is submitted to Elsevier System (EM) - with a justification of the contributions of the proposed authors if more than four.
  • November 1st: EC and STC Chair review the final paper.

Year N - 2021

  • February 20th: reviews are forwarded to the Corresponding author.
  • April 10th: Submission of the first revision to EM.
  • May 5th: Second comments forwarded to the Corresponding author.
  • May 20th: Submission of the second revision to EM.
  • May 25th: Final decision. CIRP Office gives the Publisher the approval to print the Papers accepted in Volume 2. The Corresponding authors receive a final proof from Elsevier during the following weeks, as well as a copyright form to send back to Elsevier.
  • June 15th: Draft PowerPoint presentation (for the GA) sent to the STC Chair for approval.
  • Mid-August - Publication of Volume 2 (online on the CIRP website and on ScienceDirect).
  • General Assembly: Presentation of the Keynote.
  • Mid-September - Shipment to the members of the printed version of Volume 2.

CWG-Keynotes follow this time frame upon their completion in three years; related STC Chairs approve.
Cross-STC KNs are presented at the Cross-STC meetings and approved by Chairs of STCs involved.

The Chairs of the STCs concerned are responsible for this Time-Table.
