STC F - 2015 Annual Report

The Scientific Technical Committee “F” had two meetings in 2015: in Paris on February 19th and in Cape Town on August 28th. The STC meeting in February had 44 participants of whom 14 were guests, and the meeting in August had 36, of which 15 were guests.

CIRP Dictionary / CIRPEDIA

The revision of the Forming Dictionary Volumes had been sent to Springer-Verlag and a first printed version was presented during the meeting. Proof reading took unexpectedly much time due to the numerous setting errors and was continuing. Therefore, the final printing of the volumes was delayed but hoped to be completed in the next weeks. Keynote Papers

An almost final version of the paper and the proposed presentation for the 2015 keynote paper, “Predicting and controlling product properties in metal forming processes” by Professors Tekkaya, Allwood, Bariani, Bruschi, Cao, Gramlich, Groche, Hirt, Ishikawa, Merklein, Misiolek, Pietrzyk, Shivpuril, Yanagimoto were introduced by Prof. Tekkaya and then discussed in further detail.

Progress report and discussion on the 2015 keynote paper “Closed loop control of product properties in metal forming” led by Professor Allwood. Professor Allwood presented a comprehensive slide pack summarizing the key evidence and themes of the paper. The discussion concentrated on the chapters four to seven as intended by the key questions set out for this meeting.

A special session was held on the topic of the 2017 internal session keynote paper on “Hot stamping” – led by Prof. Mori. A list of these presentations is given below.

CIRP Dictionary / CIRPEDIA

CIRP Dictionary: Vol. I/1 and Vol. I/2 “Forming”: The last correction for German, English and French was send in August 2015 to Springer. An online version of the dictionaries will be realized by Springer.
Italian translation: The translations have been finished. The source data was sent to Springer. Springer agreed on performing production of the Italian dictionaries based on the existing data.
Turkish translation: The translations for forming dictionary have been carried out to 100%. The source data will be sent at the end of this year to Springer. (Dr. Chatti)
