STC A - 2016 Annual Report


The Scientific Technical Committee: Life Cycle Engineering and Assembly had two meetings in 2016: in Paris on February 18 and in Guimaraes on August 26.

The February STC LCE/A meeting in Paris was attended by 96 participants. The Guimaraes meeting was attended by 71 people.

Other business

CIRPedia and STC LCE/A involvement: Participants were encouraged to propose new entries for CIRPedia and topics for STC LCE/A. The section editor for the Life Cycle Engineering section is Prof. Dewulf and the section editor for the Assembly section is Prof. Krüger.

Election of STC A Officers:

An election was held during the STC A meeting in Guimaraes. Prof. John Sutherland was elected chair, Prof. Joerg Krueger was elected Vice Chair, and Prof. Yasushi Umeda was elected secretary, of STC A, for a three year term, effective January 1, 2017.

At Guimaraes,a questionnaire about future STC direction was presented by the Vice-Chair and Secretary and discussed with the participants. The questionnaire results are provided in the minutes from that meeting.
