Chairman: Prof. Bernhard Karpuschewski
Track I presents a discussion and presentation platform which is common to the Scientific Technical Committees of all manufacturing processes involved in CIRP, which is cutting, electro-physical and chemical processes, forming and abrasive processes (STC C, STC E, STC F, STC G). All theses processes need sufficient machine tools, are dedicated to precision and generate surfaces, thus by nature there is also a close link to Track II.
The track platform is used to discuss new emerging trends coming from the STCs involved. Within the track these ideas are first introduced by means of technical presentations. In agreement with the track chairman experts outside of the CIRP community might be invited to these meetings to stimulate these new ideas and to give a multi-disciplinary view.If the succeeding discussions and the response from the audience are positive, these ideas are further elaborated and might result in a collaborative working group (CWG) after positive vote from the track participants. Examples of this procedure are the CWG on Biomechatronics in collaboration with Track II or the CWGs on surface integrity and hybrid processes. Also cross-all-track CWGs like Energy and Resource Efficiency and Effectivenessare initiated after individual approval.
Furthermore short technical presentations with cross-STC character, which are of interest for the track audience, are welcome.
The track platform is also used to announce all conferences related to the STCs involved and, subject to votes, the chairman gives his approval in Track I for the final confirmation in the Liaison committee.
