Track II presents a discussion and presentation platform which is common to the Scientific Technical Committees of Machines, Surfaces & Precision Engineering (STC M, STC S, STC P).  The future directions of Track II related fields and emerging technologies are also discussed.

The Track Chairman announces the proposed conferences and, subject to votes, gives his approval during Track II meeting.

The Coordinator of Track II invites members to offer technical presentations, and selects some of the presentations which are most related to all three STCs. The seeds of the collaborative working group topics are first discussed in Track II, followed by specific technical presentations in the proposed areas. If the Track II members are convinced that the topic covers more than one STC and it is a worthy topic, the proposed Collaborative Working Group is supported with the votes of Track II.

Track II recently formed Biomechatronics Working Group in collaboration with Track I. Track II is currently welcoming technical presentations in micro machining systems. Topics include the design of micro-machines, micro-high speed spindles, ultra precision position control of drives, measurement systems, and micro-machined surfaces.
