Track III represents a platform for discussion and presentation which are related to the Scientific Technical Committees of Assembly, Design and Organization (STC A, STC Dn, STC O) as well as related Collaborative Working Groups (CWG) like the CWG EREE - Energy and Resource Efficiency and Effectiveness.

In this cross-track CWG manufacturing systems issues are addressed within Track III.

Conferences, assigned to STC A, STC Dn and STC O are announced by the chairman and approved by the present CIRP members within the Track III meetings.

Predominantly strategic topics are be discussed within Track 3. This varies from manufacturing-related topics like Life Cycle Engineering, Sustainability in Manufacturing and approaches regarding e.g. Production Theory to CRIP-related topics like the significance of emerging countries for CIRP or the Track-concept itself.
